A social media streamer is facing mounting scrutiny after a viral video allegedly showed him firing multiple rounds at an alligator during a live broadcast in the Florida Everglades.
Braden Eric Peters, 20, known online as “Clavicular,” is said to have filmed himself aboard an airboat, repeatedly shooting at what appeared to be a dead alligator floating in the water. The footage quickly spread online, drawing backlash and prompting an official response.
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission confirmed it is investigating the clip, stating it is aware of video showing individuals “discharging firearms at an alligator” and that inquiries are ongoing.
Under Florida law, it is illegal to kill, injure, or possess an alligator without proper authorization, and firearms are generally restricted to regulated trapping operations.
The controversy comes as Peters was also arrested in Fort Lauderdale on an unrelated misdemeanor assault charge, according to the Broward County Sheriff's Office.
That case is now drawing additional attention following new details released by the Osceola County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies were called to an Airbnb near Kissimmee on February 2 after reports of an alleged altercation.
At the scene, a 19-year-old woman told officers she had been battered by 24-year-old Violet Marie Lentz, who is reportedly Peters’ girlfriend.
Investigators later determined that Peters allegedly played a role in escalating the situation and is accused of posting video of the confrontation online in an attempt to “exploit the two women,” according to officials.
The arrest linked to that incident came weeks later, after the alligator video had already begun circulating widely.
Together, the incidents have intensified scrutiny around the streamer’s behaviour, both online and offline, with critics pointing to a pattern of controversial conduct.
Authorities say both investigations remain active, and further updates are expected as officials continue to review the evidence.
