A shocking moment caught live on camera in New York City has sent shockwaves across social media after popular streamer Sneako was suddenly attacked while broadcasting to his audience.
The internet personality, whose real name is Nicolas Kenn De Balinthazy, was in the middle of a livestream on a city sidewalk when a stranger approached and, without warning, punched him in the face. The impact sent him crashing to the ground as the camera tumbled, capturing chaotic glimpses of pavement and bystanders during the brief struggle.
The violent clip spread rapidly online, leaving fans stunned and concerned for the streamer’s safety.
Sneako later moved quickly to reassure his audience that he was not seriously harmed. Taking to X, he wrote: “Im fine we got it handled. Going live again in an hour,” signaling he had no intention of stepping away from his content despite the incident.
In a follow-up livestream, he elaborated further, claiming the attack may not have been entirely random.
“I got hit, you can see it in the video. I got hit a few times, I get up and immediately [he] pulls out mace and runs away. This doesn’t make sense that it was a random person,” he said.
The incident has reignited debate around Sneako’s increasingly controversial online presence. Known for his YouTube content, political commentary, and street interviews, he has built a large following while also drawing criticism for provocative views on religion, society, and gender.
Some commentators have attempted to link the attack to his outspoken rhetoric, while others have warned against justifying real-world violence based on online disagreements.
The confrontation also comes just weeks after another tense encounter in New York, where a passerby confronted Sneako during filming, demanding he stop recording.
“I don’t want myself on your camera. Delete that,” the man was heard saying in that earlier incident, to which Sneako responded calmly, “I’m a YouTuber, I’m just making a video.”
While the identity and motive of the attacker in the latest incident remain unclear, the footage has intensified concerns about the increasingly blurred line between online controversy and real-world consequences.
