LIMEIRA, Brazil – As three rope-jumping instructors sit in jail facing homicide charges for allegedly hurling a 21-year-old woman to her death without a safety rope, a disturbing old video has resurfaced showing one of the suspects making light of throwing a “body” off the exact same abandoned bridge.
Luis Felipe Feliciano Egoroff, 32, posted the video on Instagram in September 2022 – nearly four years before Maria Eduarda Rodrigues de Freitas plunged roughly 130 feet from the Ponte do Esqueleto, or “Skeleton Bridge,” on June 13, 2026. In the clip, Egoroff and others are seen tossing a black body bag off the decaying railway viaduct, with the on-screen title reading “Desovando corpo”, Portuguese for “Disposing of a body.”
The macabre stunt, which drew fresh outrage after Freitas’ death, has been widely shared as investigators probe the unlicensed operation. Egoroff, along with Vitor de Freitas Gonçalves, 27, and Maicon Fernandes Cintra, 42, were arrested and charged with homicide with “eventual intent” – essentially accused of proceeding despite knowing the extreme risk of death. They could face up to 30 years in prison if convicted.
Video of the fatal jump shows Freitas being lifted into an “airplane” pose by two men before being thrown off the edge. Her safety rope lay unused on the platform as panicked screams erupted from witnesses. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The suspects claimed in police interviews that they “blacked out” and couldn’t remember who was responsible for attaching the cord, an explanation met with widespread disbelief. Two reportedly tried to flee the area. A judge ordered them held in preventive detention while the case proceeds.
Egoroff, described as the leader of the group “Entre Cordas,” had regularly posted videos promoting jumps from the unregulated bridge northwest of São Paulo. Brazilian authorities say the operation lacked any official permits. The City Hall of Limeira has signaled plans to take legal action over the dangerous site.
The resurfaced 2022 video has fueled public fury online, with many calling the “joke” a sick foreshadowing of the tragedy. Freitas, a physical education student, had shared lighthearted posts about the jump shortly beforehand. Her family is demanding answers and greater accountability for rogue adventure activities in Brazil.
