This Is the World’s Deepest Swimming Pool — And It’s Basically an Underwater Fever Dream
18 days ago
If your idea of a pool is a rectangle with lane lines, Deep Dive Dubai is here to ruin that for you absolutely.
Yes, this place is officially recognized by Guinness World Records as the deepest swimming pool on Earth, plunging a wild 60 meters (196 feet) straight down. That’s deeper than most people’s fear of the ocean — except this one comes with air conditioning, mood lighting, and a sunken city.
First of all, the scale is unhinged. Deep Dive Dubai holds 14 million liters of fresh water, which is roughly the same as six Olympic-sized swimming pools stacked into one very committed hole. Casual.
But instead of being a dark, intimidating abyss, the entire thing is designed like an abandoned underwater city. Divers can swim through furnished, multi-level “apartments,” wander into a library, or casually play chess or pool underwater — because apparently regular board games just weren’t immersive enough anymore.
And then there’s the decor. At around 30 meters deep, you’ll find a submerged car, a motorbike, and yes, an actual Formula 1 car. Because nothing says “relaxing swim” like drifting past an underwater F1 vehicle.
Despite looking like a sci-fi movie set, the facility is stacked with serious tech and safety features. There are 56 underwater cameras, advanced lighting and sound systems, and even a 12-person hyperbaric chamber on-site in case anyone needs emergency care. Deep, dramatic, but responsibly dramatic.
Even better? The water stays at a cozy 30°C (86°F), meaning you don’t need a bulky wetsuit to explore. Just vibes, bubbles, and the unsettling realization that you’re swimming through a fake city at almost 200 feet underwater.
Located in Nad Al Sheba, Deep Dive Dubai is open to everyone from total beginners to certified divers, offering both scuba diving and freediving experiences. So yes, you can literally start from zero and work your way down into what might be the most extra swimming pool ever created.
