A Florida Firefighter Was Arrested After Allegedly Dumping 100 Tampons on Her Ex’s Lawn — With Help From Her Mom and Aunt

Breakups are hard. Seeing your ex move on can be harder. But police say one Florida firefighter took things to a very public — and very strange — level.
Gabrielle Franze was arrested and charged with misdemeanor stalking after investigators say she threw roughly 100 tampons covered in red paint across her ex-boyfriend’s lawn during a late-night visit that involved not just her, but also her mother and aunt.
According to authorities, Franze had been upset that her ex had a new girlfriend and began posting about the situation on social media. Then, one night in September, she allegedly decided to turn those feelings into action.
Body camera footage released by police shows officers responding after the tampons were discovered scattered across the yard, clearly visible and intentionally placed. Investigators say the items were soaked in red paint to resemble blood.
When officers asked Franze why she did it, she reportedly brushed it off as “stupid fun.” In the bodycam video, an officer reacts with disbelief and uses an offensive slur to describe the situation, a moment that has since drawn attention online.
Police say the incident crossed the line from prank to pattern, especially given Franze’s earlier social media posts about her ex and his new relationship. She was taken into custody and later charged with misdemeanor stalking.
No injuries were reported, but the scene — and the unusual evidence left behind — quickly made the case stand out.
Franze’s case will now move through the court system, where a judge will decide whether this was just a bad idea taken too far or something more serious under Florida law.
