Interview With Heavyweight Deontay Wilder Goes Off The Rails When Asked About Losing To Tyson Fury, Starts Screaming About Racism And White Supremacy
38 days ago
Deontay Wilder does not want to talk about Tyson Fury. Like, at all. And if you needed proof, he provided it by absolutely detonating inside the talkSPORT studio and storming out like a man who just saw red.
The Bronze Bomber, now 40, stopped by talkSPORT Towers alongside Derek Chisora to hype their upcoming April 4 showdown at London’s O2 Arena. Everything was cruising along fine until co host and professional button pusher Simon Jordan brought up the one name Wilder refuses to hear: Tyson Fury.
That’s when things went off the rails.
Wilder immediately shut it down, snapping that he would not talk about Fury under any circumstances. Jordan, doing what Jordan does best, kept pressing, specifically referencing Wilder’s long list of explanations for losing to the Gypsy King.
Bad move.
Wilder exploded, yelling that he knows “the truth” and has “the facts,” while growing visibly more agitated by the second. Security eventually stepped in as Wilder towered over Jordan before shouting his way out of the building.
And that was just part one of the chaos.
Earlier in the visit, Chisora showed up carrying a cardboard cutout of Tyson Fury, because of course he did. Del Boy even invited Wilder to take a selfie with it. Wilder stared at it, clearly unimpressed, muttering “What the helly?” before escalating things in true Deontay fashion.
To the delight of everyone watching, Wilder climbed onto a chair, waved his crotch toward the cutout, and announced he was going to “put my nuts on his bald head.” The studio lost it. Absolute scenes.
This all ties back to Wilder and Fury’s never ending beef, which recently reignited after Wilder claimed white supremacy played a role in their first fight back in 2018. On a podcast, Wilder accused Fury of cheating, the referee of bias, and said he has proof that will come out in a future documentary or movie.
He went as far as daring Fury to sue him for defamation, insisting that being a dark skinned black man made his claims harder for people to believe.
Whether you think Wilder is dead serious or completely unhinged, one thing is clear. Mention Tyson Fury around him at your own risk. The man is focused on Chisora next, but Fury still lives rent free in his head, cardboard cutouts and all.
