OUTRAGE: Frontier Airlines Kicks Off Woman Because They Said She Didn't Listen...But There's A Problem...She's Deaf
87 days ago
A Georgia woman says she was left humiliated after being asked to leave a flight with Frontier Airlines when crew members allegedly mistook her hearing disability for refusing to respond to instructions.
The passenger, identified online as Ashley, shared a video of the incident that has since spread widely on social media, sparking debate about how airlines handle situations involving passengers with disabilities.
Ashley, who posts on TikTok under the username @legallyswiftie13, claims the misunderstanding began shortly before takeoff when a flight attendant approached her seat.
According to Ashley, she was unable to hear what the crew member was saying because she is deaf, something she says was already indicated on her airline ticket.
However, she believes the crew assumed she was ignoring them rather than realizing she could not hear the instructions being given.
The video shows several passengers seated nearby attempting to explain the situation to the flight crew. Some can be heard telling the attendants that Ashley’s ticket indicated she is deaf and suggesting that the confusion may simply be a misunderstanding.
Despite those attempts, Ashley says the decision had already been made for her to leave the aircraft.
At one point in the clip, Ashley becomes emotional as she explains that she is not trying to cause trouble and is willing to cooperate with the crew.
“It’s embarrassing to walk up the aisle when I didn’t do anything wrong,” she says while gathering her belongings from the overhead compartment.
The footage shows her walking down the aisle of the plane as other passengers question the decision and appear frustrated by the situation.
Incidents involving passengers being removed from flights often attract significant attention online, particularly when they raise questions about how airlines handle communication with travelers and resolve misunderstandings.
While the full circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear, the video has already sparked widespread discussion about accessibility and whether more training may be needed for airline staff when interacting with passengers who have hearing disabilities.
