A 31-year-old Colorado man on a business trip to Music City was found dead in a wooded area four days after he vanished following a late-night encounter with police, with disturbing bodycam footage capturing some of his last moments alive.

Conor Anderson was discovered Thursday evening in a wood line next to a parking lot at 14 James Robertson Parkway in Nashville, authorities said. Metro Nashville Police reported no immediate signs of foul play. The medical examiner will determine the cause of death.

Anderson, a Denver-area professional, had flown into town Saturday for the RE/MAX Broker Owner Conference and checked into the Millennium Maxwell House hotel. He was last seen early Sunday after leaving an East Nashville bar near Woodland and Main streets.

Around 1 a.m., the unsteady man flagged down two East Precinct officers cruising by. In the bodycam video, Anderson appears disoriented and intoxicated as he recounts a bizarre encounter with a group of men outside the bar.

“I met these guys, and I asked him if they would show me their neighborhood, and he said yes,” Anderson can be heard saying. “They took 20 bucks from me, and then he walked out… and then I can’t remember if he demanded or ended up getting another 20 bucks from me.”

He claimed the men had threatened him and walked off with his cash after he asked them to show him around the area. Officers pressed him on details and floated the possibility he was trying to score drugs. Anderson denied it.“No, no. I was not,” he insisted.

The officers told him they needed his driver’s license to file a formal report. He refused. They urged him to grab an Uber back to his hotel. Anderson agreed, telling them, “I am. This is my last stop.”He was never seen again after that. Family members later said he briefly stepped into a nearby bar for a drink before walking out and disappearing.

Anderson’s colleagues and loved ones described the vanishing as completely out of character for the 31-year-old. A family statement noted he had flagged down police about the incident shortly before he went missing.

Police searched for days, reviewing surveillance, phone records and bank activity. On Thursday, the search ended with the grim discovery of his body near the highway interchange area.“

There are no immediate indications of foul play,” Metro Nashville Police said in a statement. “The Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death.”The haunting bodycam clip, showing a clearly impaired Anderson struggling to explain what happened under the streetlights, has fueled online speculation about what really unfolded in those final hours. Officials have released few additional details while the investigation continues and toxicology results are pending.

Anderson’s death serves as a stark reminder of the risks that can face travelers out late in unfamiliar neighborhoods. Police and city nightlife officials have urged visitors to stick with groups, stay in well-lit areas, and arrange safe rides home.
