A 72-year-old man has been arrested after allegedly driving into a group of cyclists during a heated roadside confrontation in Georgia, leaving two riders injured.
Police say Jerry Ross was behind the wheel when he approached a group of around ten cyclists traveling together on a public road.
According to investigators, Ross became increasingly frustrated as he followed behind the group, repeatedly honking his horn and shouting at them.
One of the cyclists began filming as tensions escalated.
What happened next has sparked outrage.
Authorities allege that Ross suddenly accelerated, swerving around the group while continuing to sound his horn, before striking two cyclists.
Both victims sustained minor injuries in the incident.
Ross then allegedly fled the scene.
When later confronted by police, officials say he blamed the cyclists for the collision, claiming they were taking up too much of the road and causing the situation.
He was subsequently arrested and now faces multiple charges, including two counts of aggravated assault, hit and run, and reckless driving.
