A Czech millionaire who blasted down a German highway at a staggering 257mph in a luxury supercar has avoided charges after authorities ruled the high-speed run did not pose a proven danger to others.
The driver, widely reported to be businessman Radim Passer, was filmed reaching an eye-watering 414 km/h behind the wheel of a Bugatti Chiron on the famed Autobahn.
The footage shows the sleek hypercar accelerating along a long, straight stretch of road in the early hours of the morning, with little to no traffic visible.
The video quickly went viral, sparking outrage and disbelief across Europe, with many questioning how such speeds could be achieved on a public road without consequences.
German prosecutors launched an investigation into the incident, examining whether the extreme speed constituted reckless driving or endangered public safety.
However, officials ultimately decided to drop the case.
Authorities concluded that the run took place under controlled conditions on a largely empty section of the Autobahn, and that there was no clear evidence the driver had put others at risk.
The decision has reignited debate over Germany’s unique driving laws, particularly the stretches of the Autobahn where there is no fixed speed limit.
While drivers are still expected to operate safely and can face charges if they endanger others, there is technically no universal cap on speed in certain areas.
If you want to legally do the same, start looking at apartments in Germany, the only place on Earth where this is allowed on public roads.
