A New Yorker hoping for a quick slice of pizza instead got an eyeful of one of the most stomach-churning hygiene violations caught on camera in recent memory.
The 43-second clip, filmed inside the kitchen of an unidentified New York City pizzeria, shows a worker of Indian descent casually resting his bare foot directly on the rim of a large stainless steel pizza dough mixer while dough is being prepared.
The footage, shared Wednesday on X, has sparked immediate outrage and calls for the city’s health department to investigate.
The video opens in the kitchen area with white tiled walls and a dirty tiled floor. A man in a green t-shirt and black shorts is crouched or seated beside stacks of flour bags labeled “All Trumps” enriched bread flour. His right foot is visibly soiled, is propped up on the edge of the massive mixer bowl containing pizza dough. Another worker in a black t-shirt and striped shorts stands nearby handling what appears to be dough or a pizza box.
The camera then zooms in on the same green-shirted worker. He has dark, sweaty-looking hair, a goatee, and stares toward the lens while holding a Poland Spring water bottle. Moments later, the footage cuts to the front counter area, where a bearded employee in a beige t-shirt stands behind a glass display case packed with whole pies and slices.
A red menu board hangs prominently, listing standard New York slice shop offerings:Cheese, Pepperoni, Chicken BBQ, Chicken Buffalo Ranch, Chicken Bacon Ranch, Hawaiian (“Haywain”), White Ricotta, Pepperoni Sausage, and Supreme pizzas.
Slices priced around $3.00 (with some variations up to $4.00).
Toppings including black olive, mushroom, pineapple, fresh tomato, onion, fresh green pepper, and jalapeño — extra topping $1.00.
Chicken wings also advertised.
The customer who recorded the video was reportedly trying to buy a slice when he spotted the scene unfolding in the open or visible kitchen area. He immediately posted the warning: avoid ordering from the establishment.
