In another bombshell scandal rocking the business and media world, Robert Edwards, the inventor behind the viral bathroom product Squatty Potty and a former guest on Shark Tank, has been arrested in Utah on charges related to child sexual abuse material.
Authorities allege Edwards purchased a “trove” of CSAM over four years between 2021 and 2025. According to investigators, the case escalated after an undercover agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation infiltrated an online group chat where disturbing material was being shared. Edwards was allegedly among the participants.
In November, law enforcement executed a search warrant at Edwards’ residence and confiscated his phone. Officials claim the device contained multiple videos and images of CSAM, a discovery that led to his arrest.
Edwards has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Public records and nonprofit profiles add another unsettling layer to the story. According to his biography on Southern Utah Cares, Edwards described himself as “partnered” and a co-parent to four children, a detail that has raised serious concerns given the nature of the allegations.
The scandal has also reignited scrutiny of Edwards’ past television appearances. During his pitch on Shark Tank, investor Barbara Corcoran famously remarked that there was something about him that felt “off,” a comment now circulating widely online as viewers revisit the episode with fresh eyes.
