New York City’s revolving-door justice system was on full display this week after a notorious online prankster was arrested, briefly detained, and then almost immediately released, only to return to causing mayhem on camera.
Gusmane Coulibaly, a 27-year-old content creator who goes by the nickname “Diaper Man,” was arrested on February 26 after allegedly pelting NYPD officers with snowballs packed with rocks and chunks of ice during a chaotic snowball fight in Washington Square Park.
According to police, two officers were injured in the incident. Coulibaly was charged with assault, obstruction, and disorderly conduct, serious allegations that would have once kept a suspect off the streets.
Instead, he was reportedly released after just four hours.
Video circulating online shows Coulibaly wasting no time getting back to business. The footage captures him inside a restaurant in Manhattan, immediately resuming disruptive pranks, harassing employees, and drawing yet another police response, all while filming content for social media clout.
In the clip, workers appear visibly uncomfortable as Coulibaly pushes boundaries, playing to the camera while chaos unfolds around him. Police can be seen arriving once again, raising the question many Americans are now asking: What does it take to keep repeat offenders off the streets?
