WASHINGTON, D.C. — Move over, stuffy state dinners, America just got a whole lot louder. In one of the most badass displays ever seen on the manicured grounds of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave., motocross icons including Travis Pastrana, Ricky Carmichael, Jeremy McGrath, Brian Deegan and more launched high-flying backflips and death-defying tricks right on the White House South Lawn Saturday.
The patriotic spectacle, part of UFC Freedom 250 festivities tied to the nation’s 250th birthday bash, had engines roaring, crowds cheering and dirt bikes soaring over one of the most iconic patches of grass in the world.
Pastrana, the Nitro Circus founder and Annapolis legend, nailed a history-making FMX backflip, just like he pitched to UFC boss Dana White. The daredevil reportedly didn’t expect a yes, but got the green light to turn the presidential backyard into a stunt playground.
Joining the chaos were all-time greats Carmichael (the GOAT himself), supercross king McGrath, Deegan, “Twitch” Stenberg, Keith Sayers and others, legends who never dreamed they’d be whipping wheelies where presidents stroll.
Social media exploded with red-white-and-blue pride. “Only in America, only Trump!” declared one fan. Others compared it favorably to past administrations’ lawn activities, calling the motocross mayhem pure Americana.
Pastrana and crew practiced ramps early and delivered the goods, sponsored in part by Black Rifle Coffee. The jumps tied into bigger weekend celebrations, including UFC fights on the South Lawn and fan fests nearby.
It’s the kind of over-the-top, no-apologies spectacle that screams freedom: Evel Knievel energy meets presidential real estate. Kids who grew up watching these daredevils on TV now get to see them live where history happens.
God Bless America!
