A distressed mother has shared alarming footage of her young son in a hospital bed after he allegedly consumed an entire pack of THC-infused gummies obtained at school.
The video, which has been widely circulated online, shows the 9-year-old boy visibly disoriented, struggling to speak and unable to communicate clearly as he lies in a hospital bed under medical supervision.
In the clip, the child’s eyes appear unfocused and erratic, while he struggles to form words, prompting concern from medical staff monitoring his condition.
Alongside the footage, the boy’s mother displays what she says are the products involved, a packet of blue raspberry THC gummies and a vape device, which she claims her son was given while at school before ingesting the entire pack.
The child’s symptoms, including confusion, impaired speech, and physical distress, are consistent with high dose THC intoxication, which can have a far more severe impact on children than adults due to their smaller body size and heightened sensitivity.
Experts have warned that cannabis infused edibles can be particularly dangerous for minors, as they are often brightly colored and flavored, making them appealing and easy to consume in large quantities without understanding the risks.
In recent years, multiple cases across the United States have seen school-aged children hospitalized after ingesting THC products brought onto school grounds, raising ongoing concerns among parents and educators.
Health officials note that while cannabis laws vary by state, accidental or intentional exposure among children remains a serious issue, particularly with edible products that can resemble ordinary sweets.
