This is the moment a group of young people turned a late-night dance session into a costly disaster after one ill-advised stunt caused a parking garage to flood.
Surveillance footage released by George Mason University Police shows a group gathered inside a parking garage on the university’s Arlington campus, laughing and dancing in what appears to be a carefree moment.
But the fun quickly took a destructive turn.
As the group continued dancing, one individual suddenly jumped up and grabbed onto an overhead water pipe, attempting to use it like a pull up bar.
Within seconds, the pipe snapped.
Water immediately began gushing from above, pouring into the garage and sending the group scrambling as the situation spiraled out of control.
The footage, which was shared publicly on April 8, quickly spread online, with authorities appealing for help in identifying those involved in the March 23 incident.
Officials made clear that while dancing or even attempting gym like activity in the garage is not a crime, damaging university property is a different matter entirely.
The video, also shared by KTLA, shows the group reacting in shock as water floods the area, turning what started as harmless fun into a costly mistake.
In a surprising twist, the person responsible later came forward voluntarily, identifying themselves to police and accepting responsibility for the damage.
The incident has since sparked debate online, with some calling it a foolish stunt that caused unnecessary damage, while others dismissed it as a simple mistake that escalated far too quickly.
Either way, it serves as a clear reminder that not everything in a parking garage is built to double as gym equipment.
