A dramatic video from an Egyptian kitchen has captured the moment a towering chicken döner spit suddenly gives way, collapsing under its own weight and sending workers scrambling in a scene of pure chaos.
The footage, believed to be taken from surveillance cameras inside a busy food outlet, shows staff carving into an unusually large vertical spit stacked high with layers of chicken, skin, and fat.
At first, everything appears routine.
Workers slice into the rotating tower of meat as trays are held below to catch the falling pieces. But within seconds, the massive structure begins to tilt, its balance clearly compromised.
Then it happens.
The entire spit, reportedly weighing as much as 500 kilograms, buckles and collapses, sending a huge mass of meat crashing downward and forcing staff to jump back to avoid being struck.
Knives in hand and trays scattered, employees are seen reacting instantly, attempting to control the سقوط and salvage what they can as the kitchen descends into confusion.
The sheer size of the döner has drawn particular attention online, with many pointing to the excessive layers of skin and fat as a likely factor in the instability.
Experts note that vertical rotisserie systems rely heavily on proper balance and secure stacking, especially when handling large quantities. Overloading the spit or uneven distribution can place significant strain on the central support, increasing the risk of collapse, particularly during carving when weight distribution shifts rapidly.
