A Florida SWAT team forcibly removed a Tesla from a garage while raiding the home of rapper Richard Colbert, better known as iHeartMemphis, after authorities responded to what they described as an apparent mental health episode that ended with his arrest.
Livestream footage circulating online shows officers breaching the garage of Colbert’s home, where police say he was hiding. During the operation, law enforcement pulled a Tesla through the garage door to gain access, causing visible property damage as they secured the scene.
Colbert, 32, rose to fame with the viral 2015 hit “Hit the Quan.” In the hours leading up to the raid, he posted a series of incoherent and alarming messages on social media, including claims that he was “GOD,” prompting concern among followers and law enforcement.
During the incident, Colbert was heard shouting at officers outside his home. “Get away from my house. I don’t need help, I need water. Not Coca-Cola, not f—ing AIDS and red meats. I’m God. Look at me walk across this f—ing grass. I’m fast like lightning, I will speed off on your cracker a–,” he said, according to footage shared online.
At one point, Colbert was asked whether he had thoughts of harming himself or others. He denied any such intent. “No, what the f— I’m gonna do that for. No stupid [expletive],” he said. “I don’t want to hurt nobody or myself. I am not Kanye.”
Despite his claims, authorities moved forward with the tactical response amid concerns over public safety and reported threats. Colbert was successfully taken into custody and later charged with making written or electronic threats to kill, as well as resisting an officer.
Officials have not released further details about the incident or whether Colbert will undergo a mental health evaluation. The case remains under investigation.
