A woman dubbed the “Ketamine Queen” has been sentenced to 15 years in prison over her role in the tragic death of Matthew Perry, whose sudden passing shocked fans around the world.
Jayvee Sangha, 42, a dual U.S. and British citizen, admitted to operating a so called “stash house” for illegal narcotics in North Hollywood, placing her at the center of a drug distribution chain that ultimately reached the beloved actor.
Perry was found unresponsive at his home in Los Angeles on October 28, 2023, lying face down in a hot tub. An autopsy later determined he died from the “acute effects of ketamine,” a powerful anesthetic with growing notoriety in both medical and illicit settings.
Court documents revealed that Sangha supplied a significant quantity of the drug, reportedly selling 51 vials of ketamine to intermediary dealer Erik Fleming.
Fleming then passed the drugs along to Kenneth Iwamasa, Perry’s personal assistant, who ultimately administered the injections.
According to prosecutors, Iwamasa injected Perry with at least three doses of ketamine in the lead up to his death, forming a chain of events that would end in tragedy.
The case widened as authorities charged multiple individuals connected to the supply and administration of the drug, including Fleming, Iwamasa, and two medical doctors accused of facilitating access.
However, Sangha received the harshest sentence, reflecting what prosecutors described as her central role in distributing the narcotics.
The sentencing marks a major development in the high profile investigation, which has drawn attention to the dangers of ketamine misuse and the underground networks supplying it.
For many, the outcome offers a measure of accountability in a case that exposed how a complex web of enablers surrounded the actor in his final days, ultimately leading to a fatal and preventable end.
